Learn more about the options below. If you choose the Explorer option, you’ll receive full access to all print and email editions. We’ve explained the perks below the purchase buttons.
If you choose the Voyager option, you’ll receive full access to all of our emails, but no print issues.
If you choose the Bundled Fall and Spring or Individual Fall or Spring option, we’ll remove you from our weekly email list and, moving forward, you’ll only receive emails notifying you that your print issue has been mailed, along with the tracking information.
You can also purchase individual print issues. Click on the option you’d prefer.
Become a Backroad Explorer
You’re invited to join our Backroad Explorer community—an exclusive group of readers who receive our print issues and who also have the opportunity to contribute stories and photos to future print issues of Backroad Portfolio.
As a member of this community, you also gain exclusive access to stories and bonus content only available to Explorer subscribers.
Be sure to choose the “Explorer” option on the Payments page.
Content Contribution
Our Explorers are Backroad Portfolio pioneers. They share stories and photos of new destinations, landscapes, secrets, mysteries, historical sites, and more. Then, we share them with our readers. No other subscribers have this opportunity or access to our readers.1
Click HERE for an example of a story from two of our Explorers.
Why are we doing this? Because the best backroad stories come from the folks who travel those destinations, and we can’t wait to share them with you. If you live outside of the southeastern United States, no problem. Our readers live across the Southeast and beyond, and would love to learn about new backroad destinations they have yet to explore.
